Άσε μας ρε van Buyten.

Πάρτε την αναφορά του αγώνα από το bundesliga.de, διότι δε θα ασχοληθώ περαιτέρω.

Ahead of their midweek Champions League assignments, Bayern München and Werder Bremen battled their way to a goalless draw in the big Saturday evening Bundesliga encounter.

Bremen, with new signings Wesley and Mikael Silvestre both taking their Bundesliga bow, made a confident start to the encounter in the Allianz Arena, against an unusually hesitant Bayern. With just three minutes played, lone starting striker Marko Arnautovic had the first chance for the visitors, but his shot from the edge of the box flew well over the bar.

Let-off for Bayern

A couple of minutes later there was a curious scene inside the hosts' area as Sebastian Prödl headed a Marko Marin free kick against the post only for the ball to bounce off Jörg Butt's foot, against the crossbar and back into the keeper's hands.

The incident seemed to serve as a wake-up call to the home side, who gradually started to build up a bit of attacking momentum. Franck Ribery and Thomas Müller both pulled good saves out of Tim Wiese in the period that followed and midway through the half Ribery found his master in the guest custodian once again as he tried to finish off a fine solo run.

Fast-paced start to second half

Werder were not here just to make up the numbers though and Marko Marin called Butt into action at the other end with just over half an hour played, getting off a long-range shot that the home keeper managed to turn round the post.

The rest of the first half settled into a tactical joust, but both teams reemerged after the interval with a fresh sense of purpose. Arnautovic really looked to be getting into his stride for Bremen and set up early half-chances for Wesley and Aaron Hunt, while at the other end half-time sub Toni Kroos could have done better with a couple of efforts, snatching at the first with time to spare and pulling another top-rate stop out of Wiese with the second.

Keepers on top

Bremen were back down the pitch themselves soon after, Arnautovic again impressing as he drifted passed Daniel van Buyten and Holger Badstuber before forcing Butt into another excellent save. The action abated somewhat after the hectic start to the half, but Bremen almost broke the deadlock on 71 minutes, Tim Borowski getting on the end of a ball from Marin and hitting a low drive just wide of the post.

As the clock ticked down on an even-handed affair between these two great Bundesliga rivals of the past decade, the last chance fell to Werder; an 89th minute shot on the full from fresh-off-the-bench Hugo Almeida, which Butt just managed to scramble round the post.

FC Bayern: Butt - Lahm, van Buyten (Demichelis 73'), Badstuber, Contento - van Bommel, Schweinsteiger - Müller, Ribery - Klose (Kroos 46'), Olic (Gomez 78')

Bremen: Wiese - Fritz, Prödl, Pasanen, Silvestre - Frings, Bargfrede - Marin (Almeida 85'), Wesley (Borowski 69'), Hunt (Jensen 90+1') – Arnautovic

Attendance in the Allianz Arena: 69,000 (sold out)
